SPRUCE UP DAY FOR CHANDOR NATURE TRAIL – Every 4th Saturday 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
The Chandor Gardens Nature Trail was opened March 2022. It is located at 711 W. Lee St. in Weatherford, on the historic Chandor Gardens property. The Native Plant Society of Texas, Cross Timbers Chapter, has taken on the stewardship of the trail in agreement with the City of Weatherford, who owns and runs Chandor Gardens, and with the citizen input of the Chandor Gardens Foundation.
Because this trail is new, there is quite a bit of cut brush that needs to be removed. Regular monthly volunteer “Spruce Up” days will be on the fourth Saturday of each month from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Channel your “inner farmer”, wear gloves, boots, and bring your go-to brush removal tools to clean a section of the trail from its entrance to the first bridge (trail is 6/10 mile). The City will provide a truck to haul loads to the garden’s back lot where the pile will eventually be chipped and hauled away.”
