Join us for a BioBlitz of the old Camp Jarvis, part of the Fort Worth Nature Center located on the north side of the refuge across the river. According to Rob Denkhaus, the past director at the FWNC, the land was acquired by the city around 1913. The camp operated from approximately 1932 – 1953, before being acquired by the FWNC in the 1970s. This area isn’t public access, so this will be the first BioBlitz there. Your iNaturalist observations will be automatically uploaded to the Fort Worth Nature Center iNaturalist project.

Two rare Tarrant County plant species are known from Camp Jarvis. Both occur in only two locations in the county.

Meet at 8:45am. Do not go to the front entrance off Jacksboro Highway. Use the Google map link, which will be provided once you register.
