*This tour is offered by donations. The suggested donation amount is $5; but please donate any amount you believe this special tour is worth. Donations benefit the Native Prairies Association of Texas (conservation & land trust organization) & are non-refundable.

Join us for a tour of Western Cross Timbers prairie remnants and natural areas at Lake Proctor, which is a Corp of Engineers Lake on the Leon River in Comanche Co. There is one rare plant species known locally in Erath and Comanche Co. and found at Lake Proctor, with a state rank of S3. In Texas, it is only known in 18 counties. We will meet at 8:45am just before the entrance to Copperas Cove Park. There is a $5.00 entrance fee. See the Google map link below for directions.

Species expected in this plant community: Penstemon laxiflorus, Stenaria nigricans, Oenothera berlandieri, Liatris mucronata (Liatris punctata var mucronata), Krameria lanceolata, Monarda clinopodioides, Thelesperma filifolium, Astragalus nuttallianus, Astragalus berlandieri, Senecio ampullaceus, Hymenopappus scabiosaeus, Ratibida columnifera, Centis reticulata, Celtis laevigata, Sorghastrum nutans, Panicum virgatum, Bouteloua curtipendula, Aristida purpurea, Bothriochloa torreyana and  Eragrostis secundiflora.
