Tandy Hills Natural Area Post Burn Tour – Jeff Quayle

Tandy Hills Natural Area had a prescribed burn on the hilltop meadow adjacent to View Street on December 19, 2024. FW-NPAT will host a post burn tour of the sites burned on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 10am – 12pm. We should be joined by Suzanne Tuttle, Michelle Villafranca, Jared Wood and FTW burn boss Jared Hall. Meet at the playground at 9:45am.

 

Species expected in this plant community: Dyschoriste linearis, Allium drummondii, Atrema americanus (Bifora americana), Vesper macrohizus (Cymopteris macrohizus), Amsonia texana (Amsonia ciliata var texana), Asclepias asperula, Asclepias viridiflora, Asclepias viridis, Matelea biflora, Brickellia macranthra (Brickellia eupatorioides var. texana), Echinacea angustifolia, Engelmannia peristenia, Erigeron strigosus, Gaillardia pulchella, Grindelia lanceolata, Hymenopappus scabiosaeus, Liatris mucronata, Lindheimera texana, Lygodesmia texana, Silphium albiflorum, Thelesperma filifolium, Physaria gracilis, Lonicera albiflora, Stillingia texana, Astragalus crassicarpus, Mimosa quadrivalvis, Pediomelum cuspidatum, Hedeoma drummondii, Hedeoma reverchonii, Salvia engelmannii, Salvia texana, Scutellaria drummondii, Scutellaria wrightii, Callirhoe pedata, Castilleja purpurea, Penstemon cobaea, Senega alba (Polygala alba), Delphinium virescens and Glandularia bipinnatifida.
