April 17 @ 3:00 pm - April 18 @ 3:00 pm

Bioblitz at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center and Tucker Woods

Apr. 17 at 3 p.m. to April 18 3 p.m.

Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet Street.

Join the Stephen F. Austin State University Student Chapter of National Association of Interpreters for their Bioblitz. This come and go event features 24 hours of flora and fauna identification using “iNaturalist”, a free software app in which you can record your observations of nature. No experience is required to participate.

Every observation can contribute to biodiversity science, from the rarest butterfly to the most common backyard weed. Findings are shared with scientific data repositories to help scientists find and use your data. Anyone 13 years and older can join iNaturalist and become citizen scientists. Younger naturalists can check out “Seek by iNaturalist”, a fun and gamified app that provides live ID suggestions.

The objective of a bioblitz is to find as many species as possible at an identified location for a designated amount of time. Come join the fun!
