The Native Prairies Association of Texas is inviting us to tour the Daphne Prairie beginning at 9 a.m. We will return to Mount Vernon for lunch, courtesy of Mr. B.F. Hicks. Expert talks will be held at the historic Railroad Depot until 5 p.m.
Come a bit early and drop by The Loading Dock or Watermelon Mills Coffeehouse for coffee. And later, leave time for a patio Happy Hour after the workshop.
Daphne Prairie is a 922-acre preserve with a rare remnant Silveus dropseed prairie and tall mima mounds.
