“Resiliency of Texas Grasslands and Native Species” presented by Brandon Belcher
Brandon Belcher is North Texas Preserves Manager for the Native Conservancy. With a particular focus on old-growth Blackland Prairie remnants, his work includes the management and protection of varied ecosystems. Brandon and his team use prescribed fire, grazing, and other techniques to maintain healthy grasslands with high biodiversity across Texas. He also leads restoration efforts, including seed harvesting, seedbed preparation, and planting, to return retired agricultural fields to native grassland species. Brandon holds BS and MS degrees from Texas A&M-Commerce, where he is an adjunct instructor in the Biological and Environmental Sciences Department.
