Kachina Prairie, Ennis
Saturday, June 12th was our first Plant Safari for children. Indian Trail Master Naturalists met with 10 local kids and their adults to learn more about plants named after animals. Each child received a safari field guide and set out into Kachina Prairie with Charlie Grindstaff, Chris Cook and several other volunteers as guides. They found Mustang Grapes, Texas Dandelions, Beebalm, Catclaw, and more. Everyone agreed it was a lot of fun and we look forward to doing another one when the weather gets cooler.
