2021 Rhymes & Rhythms on the Prairie

Kachina Prairie, Ennis

David Smith, the Cowboy Poet, will be there.
We’ll have a warm campfire to share,
A musician so you can sing along,
A word rodeo so you can play along,
And naturalists so you can walk along
To see the bison out where he did belong.

November 6th, 2021 was a crispy, clear, beautiful night for the Indian Trail Master Naturalists to host our 2nd Rhymes & Rhythms on the Prairie. With the help of Keep Ennis Beautiful, we welcomed 42 guests and 18 ITMN members for a night of campfire fun. David Smith entertained us with selections from his book: David Smith, Waxahachie Poet Lariat. Mike Harrison sang several Marty Robbins songs and recited The Ragged Old Flag by Johnny Cash, in honor of upcoming Veteran’s Day. We appreciate them taking the time to share their amazing talents with us.

The night concluded with a short night hike to the Kachina Prairie Bison.

Thank you to Ginger Gonzales with Keep Ennis Beautiful and ITMN members Charlie Grindstaff, Jim Patak, Wendy Sheppard, and Sharon Lane for your contributions.
