2022 Feed the Birds

February 05, 2022

Our annual Feed the Birds event was spread across 3 of our project areas- Kachina Prairie in Ennis, Bullard Heights in Waxahachie, and Mockingbird Nature Park in Midlothian. Thanks to the prep work of our members the week before, we had lots of bird treats to distribute across the parks. This event helps sustain wildlife during the coldest part of the year when food resources have become depleted. Members hung lotus pods and pinecones filled with bird-butter & seeds, rings made of cheerios, and homemade suet cakes.
Thank you to Laura Beattie, Jessica Willis, June McDarby, and Jennifer Zarate for braving the cold morning to man the park stations.
