Texas Nature Trackers and Master Naturalists: Exploring a Natural Partnership

Craig Hensley

Partnerships between conservation agencies and community science volunteers are increasingly important and essential in gaining better understanding of natural resources for conservation planning and implementation. Texas Nature Trackers (TNT) has been working with Texas Master Naturalists across the state to further understanding of the distribution of the state’s flora and fauna for several years. Join Craig Hensley, Texas Nature Trackers Biologist, for a look at the TNT program and how you can further understanding of our natural resources, from Texas horned lizards to Loggerhead Shrikes.

A life-long passion for the natural world has led Texas Nature Tracker Biologist Craig Hensley through a career as an educator and naturalist, sharing the natural world with people of all ages from Minnesota to Texas, including the past ten years with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Craig holds a Bachelor’s in Fisheries and Wildlife Management from Arkansas Tech University and a Master’s of Zoology from the University of Arkansas. He has been with the TNT program, working with Tania Homayoun, since July of 2019, following a year-long stint as a Wildlife Biologist and eight years as Park Interpreter and Resource Specialist at Guadalupe River State Park.
