Kachina Prairie – October 2013

Many thanks to the game men and women who came out to help blaze a trail at Kachina Prairie on Wednesday!

The goal was to cut an 8 – 12-foot wide path 800 feet long from the city’s mowed path to the edge of Lake Clark.  The section of the prairie we worked in was more like thicket than grassland; but as they say, “many hands make light work”, with 11 volunteers we actually got about 400 – 500 feet completed in less than 3 hours.  We were hot, sweaty and (I’ll speak for self here) exhausted, but left feeling really great about our accomplishments and the project as a whole! The next workday will be Saturday, Nov 9th.

Also many thanks to the Ennis Garden Club President, Anne Anderson for working with us on this project; we look forward to our continuing partnership with you all.
