Caddo Mounds: Prairie, Wildflower, & Pollinators

Prairie, Wildflowers, Pollinators!!
Come out to Caddo Mounds State Historic Site to learn about prairie restoration, wildflowers, and pollinators. Special presenters include Alan Shadow and Dawn Stover from the East Texas Plant Materials Center and Rachel Payne of the Pineywoods Beekeepers Association.
Alan Shadow will demonstrate the importance of different soils and plant surface covers on rain and water absorption with his Rain Simulation Trailer. Dawn Stover will discuss wildflower propagation and help make seed balls that can be used to spread wildflower seeds. Rachel Payne will bring an observation beehive and share her beekeeping knowledge. In addition, there will be pollinator games and crafts.
Join us for a morning of learning and fun activities! Family-friendly and free event!”
