This day will showcase frontier activities at the Hardy Pace Cabin located in Sandy Creek Park near Uncle Bubby’s Deli (across the street from Jasper City Hall).
10am to noon
You’ll see early TX crafts and skills demos such as tomahawk throwing, fire starting, campfire cooking, and shaving horse (an old fashioned, bushcraft-style wood planer). You can also tour the inside of the cabin. If you want, you can even try on a period-accurate frontier costume!
That same morning will be the first day of the autumn Jasper Farmer’s Market season. It starts at 9am. So pick up your eggs, honey, baked goods, and canned goods at 9am, then head to the Hardy Pace Cabin for some fun! One vendor will have purple hull peas, squash, cucumbers, and okra.
