Hike The Trails Challenge – MJDSP

Try and complete our challenge in one day, or over the course of several days. For each trail you complete, get a stamp on your Trail Pass at the Education Center or Headquarters. The total trails system is 14.36 miles. Most of are trails in the park are not loops, the total mileage includes a “there and back” distance for non-loop trails.

If you complete all of the trails we’ll add your name to our Champions Board. You will also gain a special prize! Join us for guided hikes throughout the day, or hike on your own.

Friday, June 2nd
9am-12pm Education Center Open
1-3pm Education Center Open
10am Slough Trail – meet at the trail entrance closest to the highway in the Hen House Unit
3pm Forest Trail – meet at the trail entrance closest to the highway in the Hen House Unit

Saturday, June 3rd
6:30am Sunrise Hike on Wildlife Trail – meet at the Walnut Slough Day Use Area, Walnut Ridge Unit
9am Island Trail – meet at the Walnut Slough Day Use Area, Walnut Ridge Unit
11am Whitetail Trail – meet at the trail entrance closest to the 500’s camping loop, Walnut Ridge Unit
1pm-3pm Education Center Open

Cost: This event is free with the purchase of a $4 day pass or a Texas State Park Pass.
