Texas Black Bear Alliance Annual Meeting

Hey, Black Bear lovers! We have an exciting, educational event lined up just for you!

• Inspirational Keynote Speaker and Award-Winning Photographer Alicia White will kick-off the program.
• Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Dana Karelus, State Mammal Specialist, will speak on ongoing Black Bear research and recovery in Texas.
• Kati Spears, the Founder & Executive Director of Bears, Etc. will share her findings on possible bear sightings and upcoming speaking engagements.
• Kenneth And Lori Hilscher will share their lessons learned in co-existing with black bear in Georgia.
• TBBA’s President and Big Thicket Natural Heritage Trust member will have closing remarks and provide insight on what to expect in the coming year.

LOCATION:

Ellen Trout Zoo, 402 Zoo Circle, Lufkin, TX 75904

The meeting will be held in the education center, the first building you see on Zoo Circle. It is not inside the zoo and an entrance fee is not required.

Parking is limited in front of the building but is available along the street.

REGISTRATION:

For in-person attendance, please register by noon Jan 16 so we can get a head count for lunch.

The virtual meeting will be via Zoom and registration is required.

LUNCH: 

Subway sandwiches with a cookie and chips, served with your choice of tea, water or lemonade. Bring a refillable container for beverages to help save the environment.
