Trail Between The Lakes Tree Planting

The Trail Between The Lakes (TBTL) stretches from Toledo Bend Lake to nearly Sam Rayburn Lake. It was made as joint effort by the US Forest Service and the Golden Triangle Sierra Club (based in Jefferson/Orange County) and currently maintained by a group called the Trail Angels.

The US Forest Service has property at various points along the trail. Despite a rule that a buffer zone is meant to be left along the trail, in some areas the timber was harvested – to the point that the trail is not distinguishable.

The Forest Service plans to replant with the help of volunteers!
