Do you have an interest in native plants, birds, and animals?
Want to learn more about wildlife and natural resource management?
Want to make new friends who share your love of the natural Texas?
Want to explore and give back to the community at the same time?
Then the Texas Master Naturalist Program is for you!
You can join the Red River Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program by attending an Initial Training course, consisting of 11 sessions beginning on August 27th, 2022. After a break for Labor Day, sessions will be taught on consecutive Saturdays through November 12th, 2022. Class sessions are a combination of indoor classroom and outdoor field sessions taught by fellow naturalists and experts to provide an immersive experience in all aspects of learning about and caring for the natural world. After completing the Initial Training course and an additional 8 hours of Advanced Training and 40 hours of volunteer service, you will be a fully Certified Texas Master Naturalist.
Start your journey toward becoming a Red River Texas Master Naturalist by reading the TMN New Member Information, the The Natural Texas brochure, and the RRTMN Chapter Brochure. Review the Initial Training Class Schedule, Frequently Asked Questions and COVID-19 Guidelines. Then print the 2022 Class Application. Return the completed application and fee of $125 (or $215 if you are applying with another member of your household and want to share a textbook) to the address on the application.
Applications are due by August 15th, 2022, and are accepted as they are received, so don’t hesitate! Secure your place in class early, as the class application period will be closed after the class limit of 16 is reached.
