Texas state parks are great places to volunteer and earn service hours. The Red River Chapter is home to five state parks. Many of them host events where the chapter volunteers as a group, such as hosting an outreach booth at a park festival. Notifications of these events are sent through an email from the Volunteer Service Director. Members may also volunteer as individuals by contacting the park directly.
The Volunteer Management System has two opportunities for each of the following parks. One opportunity is for “Natural Resource Management” service, such as clearing trails or other service from which Mother Nature benefits. The other opportunity is for “Training and Educating Others”, such as helping with interpretive programs or other service where knowledge is imparted to others. Please note that the two Cooper Lake Parks share an opportunity, so please put the location code for where the service is performed in the Comments section of the VMS entry.
