For the 10-day period, the Monarch Blitz invites people from across North America to report monarch butterfly sightings, to find milkweed plants, and to look for monarch eggs, caterpillars, and chrysalises. To take part, simply go outdoors and share your monarch and milkweed observations with one of these participating community science programs: Journey North (journeynorth.org), Monarch Larva Monitoring Project (mlmp.org), Western Monarch Milkweed Mapper (monarchmilkweedmapper.org), iNaturalist (iNaturalist.org). Remember you can only count your time doing monarch and milkweek observations, and you can’t do it on your own property. TMN guidelines require such events be on public property (city park, state park, roadside, etc).
Follow the Monarch Blitz and share your participation in this international conservation effort on social media by using the hashtag #MonarchBlitz!
