Sip ‘n Science – Bluebirds not blue birds
Another in the Sip ‘n Science series at River Bend Nature Center: “Bluebirds not blue birds” will be on Friday, January 30th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, for an engaging look at Eastern Bluebirds and how to support their populations locally. Donna and Chris Honkomp will discuss bluebird breeding cycles, nest box construction, proper placement, and ongoing maintenance, as well as the impacts of habitat reduction on bluebird numbers.
They will also highlight the importance of monitoring and reporting breeding activity through the NestWatch program, which provides valuable data for bird population research nationwide.
Ages 21 and up. Tickets are $25 per person, or $20 for RBNC members.
