Roy G. Guerrero Colorado River Metropolitan Park is comprised of almost 400 acres of green space, including open lawns, wooded trails, a playground, a disc-golf course, sports fields and access to the Colorado River.
Roy G. Guerrero’s size and proximity to the Colorado River provides great opportunities for birding. Red-Tail and Red-Shouldered Hawks, Belted and Ringed Kingfishers, Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Crested Caracara, Great Blue Herons, Killdeer, and myriad other shore and wading birds can be observed in this park along the Colorado River. Along the wooded trails Owls, White-Tailed Deer, Coyotes, Gray Foxes, and Coral Snakes can be observed. Around the lawns in the Eastern part of the park, multiple species of trees such as Burr Oak, Mexican Plum, Sycamore, and Pecan provide shade for a brief birding break or a long picnic lunch!

Open every day of the week from 5:00am – 10:00pm, admission is free to the public.

Don’t forget plenty of water, sunscreen and bug spray, and a pair of binoculars or a camera!

Located at 400 Grove Boulevard, Austin, TX 78741
