Tentative 2021 Training Schedule for New Members
Open “House” via Zoom:

10 weeks of training August 17 through October 19
Training includes both “in class meetings” as well as 3-4 Saturday field trips.
Attendance at all classes and field trips is required. Class size is limited; please apply only if you plan to attend all training and field trips.
In 2020, classes were conducted via Zoom; previously, training had been conducted in the Hardwicke Visitors Center at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. The decision about how the 2021 classes will be held is pending.

Field trip attendance and class attendance are required to certify as a Texas Master Naturalist.
Previous Field Trip Locations: FW Nature Center & Refuge; Stella Rowan Prairie, Fort Worth; Southwest Nature Preserve, Molly Hollar Wildscape and River Legacy Science Center, Arlington.
Class Topics: Introduction to Ecology; Aquatic Systems; Herps: Reptiles and Amphibians; Forests; Birds and Mammals; Prairies; Invertebrates; Urban Systems; Volunteer Opportunities; iNaturalist
Cost: In 2020, the fee to participate in training was $150. A small number of partial scholarships are available.
Included is the textbook and membership dues for the 2022 calendar year.
Textbook: Haggerty and Meuth, Texas Master Naturalist Statewide Curriculum. TAMU Press. The Chapter will distribute textbooks to students before the first class.
