Ethnobotany of the Texas Prairie

The lecture will be held both virtually and in person, and it will feature Kelly Kindscher, professor in environmental studies and senior scientist at the Kansas Biological Survey at the University of Kansas, who will tailor his talk to the prairies and Native Americans of Texas.

In person guests will receive pocket prairie seed packets and representatives from Katy Prairie Conservancy, Houston Botanic Garden and Houston Master Naturalists will be present for the lecture to provide action resources for attending patrons so they may get more involved with prairie ecosystems and conservation.
This class is a part of a series of classes at Houston Botanic Garden that focuses on the Indigenous Peoples of Texas and the native plants that sustained their way of life.
