Exploration Green Wetland Nursery Volunteer Workday

NOTE new address:  The Wetland Nursery at Exploration Green is located 2007 Seakale Ln, Clear Lake City (Houston) 77062.  Park in front of the nursery or in the phase 5 parking lot behind the nursery.

Wetland Nursery volunteers work in the wetland nursery to propagate plants for all the phases of wetland planting. These plants help secure the soil around the banks to prevent erosion as well as slow the water and debris from stormwater to aid in cleaning the water. Volunteers pot plants in one gallon nursery pots and occasionally have to separate the pots out as the plants grow.  Volunteers also comprise the large scale weekend planting events to put all the wetland plants in their new homes.

Estimated Time Commitment – Workdays are Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Rich also frequently has various tasks during the week mornings if anyone is available and he is very flexible on timing.  Please contact him directly at rich.sommer@txgcmn.org .  Tasks cover a wide range, for instance checking irrigation or removing invasives.
