HBG – Native Areas Gardening

November 6 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Houston Botanic Gardens have 9am-12pm volunteer shifts every Wednesday through Saturday in their Native Areas, as well as specific “All Call” dates that are upcoming that will be just with their native plants and areas. These include wildflower seeding, Louisiana Irisa planting and thinning, and general maintenance in our Stormwater Wetlands and Coastal Prairie areas.

Steps to Become a Regular Volunteer:
  1. Apply Online Here
  2. Attend a General Volunteer Orientation in-person (or schedule a virtual meeting with Volunteer Engagement Manager, Meagan)
  3. Submit your background check (a $12 fee)
  4. Start signing up for self-serve shifts on Better Impact!

Our next in-person orientation meeting will be on Wednesday, October 23 from 11am-12pm. This takes place in the Culinary Tent near the main entrance at 1 Botanic Lane.
