Lake Houston Wilderness Park – Summer Camp Counselor – Slither and Slime

May 30 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

If you are interested in becoming a summer camp volunteer or would like to be a guest speaker, please email Katharine.leboeuf@houstontx.gov for more details.

Camps run from 8:30am-3:30pm Wednesday-Friday and there are 6 different weeks. It would be great if a volunteer could commit for the week, but HPARD would also appreciate it if they could just come for part of the time. Please email Katherine to sign up for specific weeks.   Each camp will involve environmental education, outdoor hikes, games, and crafts. There are 20 kids in each week and their ages depend on the week. Thank you so much for sharing!

Slither and Slime Camps

Ages 8-10

Come and learn all about slimy and slithering animals through live animal encounters.  Campers will learn to identify the reptiles and amphibians in the park. Venomous, poisonous or neither?

Camp runs May 29- May 31, from 9-3, but counselors will be there from 8:30 to 3:30.
