CANCELLED: NPAT – Insect Surveys at Deer Park Prairie

Due to cool and windy weather, this event has been cancelled as of 3/9/24 AM. Please look for another opportunity on March 23.
We will photograph insects coming to blacklight stations and log them into iNaturalist. Volunteers should have equipment appropriate for taking well-lit close-up night-time photographs of small insects and should be familiar with using iNaturalist. Volunteers are asked to complete their uploads to iNaturalist within a week of the event. Light stations will be provided. A headlamp or small flashlight can be helpful. If you have a single-lens smartphone, a Xenvo lens and selfie ring light are very helpful: Mothing Equipment · iNaturalist.
Lawther-Deer Park Prairie is located at 1222 E. Purdue Lane, Deer Park 77536. Please park on the school side of the street, and not in front of the neighbors’ homes.
