OUTREACH – Earth Day event @ San Jacinto College – North Campus

The following community outreach event seeks your active support and volunteer service:SPECIAL NOTE: The far eastern part of our county includes large concentrations of severely underserved populations for our organization. For this outreach effort in the heart of that area, it would be great if we could solicit volunteer service from members that reside and/or work on the eastern side of our service area. Not required, but it would be very helpful when making local connections!EVENT: Earth Day event @ San Jacinto College – North CampusWHEN: Wednesday, April 24, 2024 @ 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. (Actual Event Run Time: 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.)WHERE: San Jacinto College – North Campus, Department of Natural Sciences, 5800 Uvalde Road, Houston, TX 77049SERVICE: Volunteers will assist with the initial setup, staffing and ultimate breakdown of a GCTMN booth which will serve as a place of outreach focus for our chapter during this SJC Department of Natural Sciences hosted event to help attendees better understand and appreciate environmental sustainability and service for Earth Day 2024. A number of environmental themed and focused booths will also be present and participate in the event. The messaging of our booth for this year’s event will be to provide general information about our Master Naturalist chapter. Further, information about the State’s Texas Master Naturalist program and the role of informed volunteers in our mission will be shared. Our booth will be indoors in climate controlled conditions.
