The Texas Master Naturalist Program is sponsored by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Its mission is to “develop a corps of well-informed volunteers who provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas.”
Highland Lakes is one of the state program’s oldest chapters, created in 2003. In 2024, our members recorded 17,313 hours of volunteer service toward that mission.
