Bamberger Ranch Preserve: Meadow Restoration

November 7 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Bambergers are continuing a wildflower meadow restoration project started last year and need some assistance from volunteers to complete their long-term vision for a wildflower meadow. Substantial progress has been made in terms of removing the larger vegetation from the designated area.  However, there remains an abundance of grass cuttings, leaf litter, and twigs that need to be cleared.  The goal is to expose as much soil as possible to receive seeds around the places where Standing Cypress is coming up.  With that in mind, the following workdays have been scheduled.

Friday, November 7th from 10 am to 1 pm (this time coincides with the hunters’ break)

Recommended gear includes garden/leaf rakes, hedge shears/loppers,

reciprocating saws/batteries, garden hoes, shovels, pitchforks and

wheelbarrows, hats, work gloves, insect repellant, sunscreen, snacks and

drinking water. Log hours under Bamberger Ranch Natural Resource

Management.
