Bamberger Ranch Preserve

September 25 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

Volunteer Opportunity – September 25th

The 7th grade advanced science class from Llano Junior High is preparing for a day trip to the Bamberger Ranch Preserve on September 25th.  Six volunteers will be needed to lead a nature hike and to assist with the sweep netting of insects.  Prior to beginning these morning activities, Kayla Krueger (Environmental Education Programs Manager) will provide each volunteer with a set of season-specific questions & answers to discuss with students.  Students will have the same questions in their field journals but not the answers.  The trail will be marked so volunteers know where to stop and ask questions of the students.  If you would like to walk the trail in advance of this nature hike, please let me or Kayla know, and we will arrange for you to do so.

The summary of this volunteer opportunity for nature hikes and insect collection is as follows.

September 25th – Arrive by 9:30 am at the Margaret Bamberger Research & Education Center (MBREC) parking lot and end by 1 pm – Need 6 volunteers.

These budding naturalists are eager to learn from others such as yourself so if you have any interest in volunteering, please let me know so I can let the ranch staff know who to expect and when.  Please note, I will not be available from September 4th to 16th.  During this time, please contact Kayla Krueger at kayla@bambergerranch.org and/or (512) 734-0017.
