Walnut Springs 3rd graders – Dripping Spings
1) lead 8-10 students on the trail from the Madrone Lake patio to the Center; 2) point out interesting things along the way; and 3) help maintain spacing between groups. The students are scheduled to arrive about 10 am and depart around 1:15 pm each day. Planned activities include: the rain machine demonstration; a 15-20 minute hike from the Madrone Lake patio to the Center; sack lunch; and lessons on dinosaurs, fossils, and bats. It is anticipated about 75 students will arrive each day and the 3rd graders will be divided into two groups with one group seeing the rain machine and hiking while the other group learns about dinosaurs, fossils, and bats. Then the groups switch so that all students will have a chance to experience the full program. As a result, volunteers will be needed to lead the trail hikes twice each day– once before lunch and again after lunch. Volunteers should plan to meet in the parking lot of the Margaret Bamberger Research & Education Center by 9:30 am on either
