Volunteer Opportunity – January 11th
As part of an ongoing effort to keep up with an ever-changing wildscape, the Bamberger Ranch needs volunteers to help with nature trail maintenance. On January 11th, we will focus on the short loops accessed from and leading back to the Arboretum Trail. Some of these side excursions have become overgrown with tall grass and low-hanging branches. As such, these loops are not readily navigable by schoolchildren and other visitors. The objectives for the day are as follows.
Volunteers are to meet at the Madrone Lake patio at 10 am. The plan is to be finished by no later than 1 pm as there may be hunters on the ranch on that day. Recommended tools include weedwhackers, brush cutters, chain saws (and oil/fuel), reciprocating saws (and batteries), pole saws, handsaws, work gloves, rakes, shovels, loppers, hedge shears, pruners, hats, sunscreen, insect repellant, water, and snack/lunch. If you are interested in the above trail maintenance activities, please let me know so I can inform the ranch staff who to expect and on which date.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
