March 2, Saturday. Lampasas County Friends of the Night Sky and the Lampasas Public Library are hosting “The Stars at Night” at the Old Middle School cafeteria, 207 East Ave A, Lampasas, from 5:00 to 7:30 followed by a Star Gazing party until 9:00. This is a rain or shine event, as the majority of the event is indoors. Purpose of the event is to educate our community about light pollution and light trespass and ways to make changes, and to inspire our community to make those changes. Many local exhibitors will be there with information including our own HLMN, DarkSky Texas, Hill Country Alliance, Inks Lake State Park, Mayborn Science Planetarium, Lampasas Community Gardens, and Saratoga Underground Water Conservation District, and more. Volunteers needed to help with the children’s program, star party set up, info tables support, working at the LCFNS tables, and general help.
