Lampasas County: Prescribed Fire Field Day–Approved AT/in-person

Join us in Lampasas County for a FREE hands-on Prescribed Fire Field Day (lunch provided) focused on safely using fire as a land management tool.

Participants will help conduct a small prescribed burn (weather permitting) and learn how fire can improve rangeland health, reduce wildfire risk, and manage brush encroachment.

Topics will include:

• Burn planning and objectives,
• Fire behavior,
• Ignition techniques,
• Equipment and safety,
• Smoke management, and
• Texas laws and regulations related to prescribed burning.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the burn from start to finish, ask questions in the field, and visit with experienced burn managers and local partners about applying prescribed fire on their own properties.

This field day is ideal for landowners, ranchers, and natural resource professionals who want practical, real-world experience with prescribed fire in Central Texas.
