Process for Checking Out a Discovery Trunk

In the interest of protecting the trunks, availability, returning them in good shape and consideration for others involved, please follow the procedure below.  There are circumstances we cannot control but we can all participate in the care of this asset.

1.  To check out a trunk – Email Krista Paul and copy Pat Campbell.  Please put the word TRUNK in the subject line.  Include the name of the trunk, date to pick it up and date to return it.

2.   Go to the AgriLife office and retrieve the trunk on the designated date.  If you haven’t borrowed this trunk before, Pat or I will meet you at AgriLife and assist you.  Some trunks have 2 or more containers.  As a quick reference for others, there is a dry erase board on the tall metal cabinet.  Please record the name of the trunk, your name and date.  This is just a “back-up” for information.  The dry erase board does not take the place of the reservation via email with Pat and myself.

3.  There is an inventory list in each trunk.  Please review it before you do your presentation.  If anything is missing, please report it to Pat or me at that time.

4.  After you use the trunk, make sure every item is returned in good shape for the next person to borrow.  If you notice any of the consumables running low or any or the pieces are damaged, please report it immediately so we have time to replace or repair.

5.  There is a script included with the trunk.  Should you need to enhance your knowledge of the subject or related subjects, there are PDFs online at Groups IO/HLMN/Files/Discovery Trunk Materials.

6.  Return the trunk on the designated date so we all know that it is available for the next person.

7.  In the event that you will want to pass a trunk to another person for an ongoing event i.e. GOP, please keep track of who has it and who is responsible for its return.

**Never borrow an item from a trunk that you are not reserving!
