Sibley talk – “Native Bees”

April 18 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

    • Come learn about the “Native Bees of the Permian Basin” with LETMN Member, Susan May.  You will find out how native bees are very different from honeybees (which are not native), and the significant role native bees play in the pollination of our local wildflowers, cacti, fruit trees and other important food plants like tomatoes.  Native bees come in all shapes, sizes and colors and have unique nesting habits that are fascinating to see.  Susan will be sharing her beautiful macro photography of native bees and will also discuss how you can encourage native bees to visit your yard or acreage so you can build a wonderful native ecosystem right at home.  This is a family friendly talk and children of all ages are welcome.  There will be fun giveaways (limited quantities, so get there early!) and lots of displays to enjoy.  Hope you can BEE there!
