Birding @ High Island

The Houston Audubon Society will have a field trip to the High Island Sanctuary to see migratory birds that are coming across the Gulf of Mexico from the Yucatan Peninsula. There will be 3 legs to this trip:

1. 8am meet at Boy Scout Woods
2. 12pm Beach drive (must have $10 beach pass)
3. 4pm meet at Smith Oaks – Fred says most of the birds arrive at 10am and later, so this is the best one if you must choose one!

Entry to the High Island Sanctuary is $10 for a day pass or $30 for an annual pass. Beach pass is $10.

We do not currently have plans to carpool. The posted meeting times are when the Audubon plan to start. If someone would like to organize a carpool, please contact Fred Lyons or Lori Horne.
