Pre-Approved Volunteer Opportunities

Any listed activities or projects from these organizations *that fall within chapter guidelines* are pre-approved as volunteer hours for the Panhandle Chapter. Activities sponsored by these groups that do not qualify can not be counted towards volunteer hours. Be sure to check with the volunteer director if there are any questions.

Naturalist-related educational programs, displays, or reference material development at:

Wildcat Bluff Nature Center, Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Lake Meredith Aquatic and Wildlife Museum, Caprock Canyons State Park, Texas AgriLife Extension, Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument

Kids at Wildcat Bluff Nature Center

Trail development, maintenance, or interpretation at:

Wildcat Bluff Nature Center, Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Caprock Canyons State Park, Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument

Citizen science/research projects associated with:

Project Feeder Watch, Christmas/Backyard Bird Counts, Quail Surveys, Small Mammal Trap & Release Studies, eBird, Texas Horned Lizard Watch, Monarch Watch, Black-Tailed Prairie Dog Watch

Establishing or maintaining any public demonstration garden associated with:

Texas Native Plant Society, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, or any public program addressing native or xeriscape plants, Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument
