Watson Rare Native Plant Preserve – Volunteer Workday

Join us on November 16th at 1:00 pm to begin preparation for our prescribed burn. The area may be wet so rubber boots or just a change of shoes is a good idea. These workdays are open for everyone 18 years old or older. Invite your friends, family and neighbors. If this is your first time to volunteer, please sign a liability waiver when you get here. Our task is to prevent fire from spreading to the boardwalk, structures and non-burn areas. We will protect these areas by removing vegetation and flammable materials with string trimmers and rakes.
Some tools will be provided, but if you have them, please bring your weed-eaters and rakes; also your safety gear and work gloves. Bring a reusable water bottle. There will be snacks!
