A BIOBLITZ is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. A Bioblitz is also known as a biological inventory or biological census. This adds information to data monitoring. And collection studies of citizen science benefits researchers because they can get more data across a broader area, it’s free for them.
Join us for the first bioblitz at the GAZEBO NATURE PRESERVE located next to the Lake Livingston Dam. It will last for two hours, and we will concentrate on the seep and inside the pollinator loop. and also collect information on the bird species that frequent the preserve. We will add all data collected to the Preserves data bank. We will meet in the Gazebo for final instructions. If you have not already downloaded the iNaturalist and Merlin apps before please do so. Waterproof shoes, boots, binoculars, magnifying equipment may be needed.
Location: Recreational Rd 5 and 1988 next to TRA and LLD
