The Polk County’s AgriLife Extension is hosting its annual Tree Giveaway on February 12. This is your chance to get several native trees, not including fruit trees, known to survive our swings in temperature, droughts, humidity, and extreme August heat.
Texas is home to over 260 species of trees, and this is a great time of year to plant them to add value to your property. The Polk County AgriLife Extension will give away many bare-rooted natives that grow best in east Texas. A list of available trees will be posted on the AgriLife Facebook page the week before the event.
Get to Barney Wiggins Arena, 100 Fair St. early on Friday, February 12 for the giveaway between noon and 2 pm, or until the trees are gone.
