The Texas Master Naturalist Program’s mission is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas.

Members of the Piney Wood Lakes Chapter come from Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, and Tyler Counties and are all ecology and conservation-minded. We train and volunteer for community projects to gain more knowledge, manage, and enhance the area’s natural resources.

Have you ever wondered:
How you could draw more butterflies to your property?
Why Lake Livingston looks muddy?
How to spend less on fertilizers and chemicals?

If you love hanging out with other other people who talk about soil, woodlands, and birds, and have a desire to keep learning and share what you learn, join the Master Naturalist program and become a Force of Nature!
