“Trade-Offs and Triumphs: Natural Resources Management at Multi-Use Projects”
(Kyle Watter, Park Ranger/Natural Resources Specialist, United States Army Corps of Engineers, Proctor Lake)
Proctor Lake has been part of our regional natural resources since 1963, and here’s your chance to find out the inside story of recent activities at the lake. Since beginning work at Proctor Lake in 2018, Kyle Watter has been involved in a number of new teams and projects, including the Proctor Lake Christmas Bird Count and regional GIS and Natural Resources Management teams. Before beginning his career with the Corps, Ranger Watter worked in a variety of natural resources management positions with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as non-profit and academic institutions, mostly in his home state of Wisconsin. Ranger Watter is a Phi Beta Kappa, with a B.S. in Conservation Biology, Cartography/GIS and History, from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. When not working at the lake, Kyle helps lead the young adult ministry at his church, and enjoys hunting, fishing, processing, and preparing as much wild food as he can.
