Approved POMN volunteer service opportunity
Log hours to “NPA: Pollinator Gardens” with Lake Mineral Wells State Park and your activities in the “Describe Your Service” box. Please wear your POMN name badge. Thanks!
Saturday September 21 we will have a work day to move some plants around and take some out as the garden is getting crowded. Prairie Oaks Master Naturalists have been such a huge part of keeping the garden looking good and I hope some of you can come out from 8-11 or 12. There will be plenty of plants to take home for all the volunteers.
Tools to bring: shovels, hoes, hand pruners, loppers, hand forks, buckets.
Personal safety: gloves, closed toe shoes, insect repellent, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen.
Also bring snacks and water, but we’ll have extra.
Time: 8am – 11am
Directions: The park entrance is located just east of Mineral Wells on Highway 180. Follow the sign for the park and turn off 180, drive about a mile and the administration building will be on the left just before the kiosk for the entrance to the park. The garden is at the administration building.
Call Cindy for further directions at 817-771-6910. Email her at
cindyleecrump@gmail.com to let her know that you are coming so she can contact you in the event of cancellation due to weather, etc.
