Our Rio Brazos Chapter will be celebrating National Moth Week with a special evening of MOTHING on Saturday, July 20, at the Acton Nature Center in Granbury. We’d like to extend an invitation to all Master Naturalists, as Sam Kieschnick, TPWD’s Urban Biologist in the DFW area, will present his Mothing program at 8 PM in the ANC Pavilion. (Public viewing hours will extend till 11 PM.)
If you missed Sam’s Mothing event at the Annual Meeting, now’s your chance! Bring your water, bug spray and a flashlight (the moths don’t mind!) wear your closed-toe shoes, and come listen and learn about the many nocturnal insects just outside our windows at night. Learn to share the mothing experience with the public in your own community, too. If you’re not already on iNaturalist, sign up and participate in Citizen Science.
