Proctor Lake Bird Count

January 4, 2020

Approved POMN Volunteer Opportunity.

Log your hours to, “FR: Bird Populations” with “NAS Bird Count, Proctor Lake” in the “Describe Your Service” box.

-Saturday, January 4th Morning, Evening, and All Day Shifts
-Proctor Lake – US Army Corps of Engineers  2180 FM 2861, Comanche, TX 76442

Come explore the Proctor Lake area and participate in the 2nd Proctor Lake and 120th national Christmas Bird Count, the world’s oldest citizen science program. Learn about the birds of North Central Texas and the hobby of birding. Beginners welcome, and drivers and experienced birders needed. Each route will have access to some unique area of the Proctor Lake Project, and three of the routes will have park rangers driving the groups around. We would prefer to have volunteers willing to bird all day, but morning and evening shifts are available. Interested parties should contact me at Kyle.J.Watter@usace.army.mil or call the lake office at 254-879-2424.
