Bumblebees of Texas – April 20

April 20, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Several bumblebee species are currently known to occur in Texas. At first glance, most bumblebee species look quite similar—and some are very challenging to identify. Once you know what characters to look for, the species in Texas are relatively easy. This presentation will focus on how to identify them, their geographic distributions, some natural history, and some current research.

Dr. Russell Pfau is a Professor of Biological Sciences at Tarleton State University.
He teaches genetics, ecology, and evolution and his primary research focus is population genetics and hybridization.

In-person and virtual options available! All virtual participants must register prior to the meeting!  All registered attendees will receive an email with the Zoom link and password the Tuesday before the meeting.
