VO: Calling All Volunteers – The Prairie Needs You on August 6!

August 6 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

The Bosque River Nature Center needs a little TLC before Nature Fest arrives on October 11. As many of you have seen, the prairie is being overtaken by Johnson grass and ragweed, and the pollinator beds are being swallowed by morning glory vines. With fall visitors on the way, it’s time to tidy up and show off our beautiful space!

We’re scheduling a series of volunteer workdays throughout August and September. Gordon will be leading Wednesday morning work sessions on August 6 and August 13, starting around 8:00 AM and working for a couple of hours. His main goal is to remove invasive Johnson grass—plus tackle a few other overgrown areas. Bring your favorite tools if you have them!

Prefer weekends? Gordon and Peggy will be at the prairie on Saturday, August 9, also around 8:00 AM. The focus that day will be clearing morning glory vines, so bring gloves and plenty of water.

More volunteer days will be announced soon, so stay tuned. Come when you can—we’d love to have your help getting the Nature Center ready for a fantastic fall season!
